Last year’s 4th of July was very different for many people, but plenty of the beloved annual events are returning this summer. Whether you’re looking to experience Vic Mathias shores fireworks or you need an excellent place to eat and enjoy a day on the water, Austin, Texas, is full of exciting events and local hotspots worth visiting during your July 4th celebration. To help you solidify the perfect plan, let’s break down the best 4th of July festivities around Austin this year.

LOCAL EVENTS

This year, many of Austin’s local seasonal festivities are back. When the Fourth arrives this year, residents and tourists have plenty of exciting events to choose from. For example, the H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks event kicks off at 8 pm, free of charge. Stop by Vic Mathias Shores to experience the Austin Symphony’s incredible performance before witnessing a dazzling fireworks display. Don’t worry—if symphonic music isn’t your thing, there are other 4th of July festivities around Austin to choose from.

On July 4th, between 4 and 10 pm, stop by the Hill Country Galleria for their annual Independence Day Festival. During the festival, you can check out art vendors, boutiques, restaurants, live music, and—of course—a firework show. Even better, parking and admission to the event are totally free.

LOCAL HOTSPOTS

Both events above are a lot of fun but take place later in the day. So, you’ll need something to do before indulging in the 4th of July festivities around Austin. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of great hotspots to hang out before the events begin. Your group can find Austin 4th of July party boat rentals for sailing onto Lake Travis, home to the famous Devil’s Cove. On your boat, enjoy some nice weather, even better drinks, and the cool waters of the lake flowing below.

When you drive off, consider heading over to Lake Travis Zipline Adventures for exactly what you think—ziplining high above the lake’s beautiful waters. If ziplining sounds like too much after your boat ride, there are plenty of beloved restaurants you can visit before heading to a firework show. The Oasis, The Lighthouse, and Shack 512 are just a few examples of hotspots near Lake Travis worth visiting if you’re looking for great food, cocktails, and atmosphere. But don’t take our word for it! Come visit us to experience Austin, Texas, on the 4th of July from a boat rental this year.
