HOW TO THROW THE ULTIMATE LABOR DAY PARTY

Throwing an awesome Labor Day party is easier said than done. Don’t worry, we’ve got a guide on how to throw the ultimate Labor Day party right here. This guide will show you the best ways to spend this day off. That being said, given the state of COVID-19 at the time you’re reading this, we recommend following the proper safety measures when throwing or attending parties of any kind.

SEND INVITES WELL IN ADVANCE

Although your guest list might not be as expansive as it would be in previous years, you should still make sure to put together a guest list and send your guests invitations at least a week and a half in advance. That way, you can find out who is going to be there, which means you’ll know how much food and other amenities to provide. Plus, this gives guests ample time to prepare for the big day.

CREATE A MUSIC PLAYLIST BEFORE THE BIG DAY

From the beginning of the party all the way until the end, you should have a steady flow of quality music that fits the mood. Sure, you might like Beethoven, but a Labor Day party isn’t the best fit for that. You should try to keep it light and upbeat. To avoid having to go over to the device the music is playing from and sifting through songs to find a good one, curate a playlist beforehand.

KEEP BUG REPELLANT ON STANDBY

If all goes well, you should be throwing your Labor Day party outside. However, to make sure your guests are happy and comfortable during the event, you need to have natural bug repellant (sprays, candles, etc.) to keep annoying insects away. That way, your guests can worry less about bugs like mosquitoes buzzing around and biting them.

DON’T FORGET THE DECORATIONS

If you want to transform your event from a quaint get together into a full-on party, no matter how limited your guest list is, hang up some decorations. However, you can’t just get random decorations just for the sake of having them. Given that Labor Day is essentially a celebration of American workers, sticking to a red-white-and-blue theme is a safe bet. Plus, if you have leftover Fourth of July decorations, you can use them instead of getting a bunch of new ones.

HAVE A PLAN B

We say plan B, but really, we mean plan I, for “indoors”. Any great Labor Day party is going to begin and hopefully continue outside. However, you have to plan for bad weather, no matter what the weather report says in advance. Few events make for a more anti-climactic party ending than cancellation due to heavy winds or rain.

These five tips on how to throw the ultimate Labor Day party will help you celebrate the holiday the right way, even with new health and safety guidelines in place.
